A Rife machine is a type of frequency generator named after Royal Raymond Rife, an early 20th-century inventor who proposed that specific electromagnetic frequencies could resonate with and disrupt harmful microorganisms or unhealthy cells in the body. The device produces low-energy electromagnetic waves that are delivered through electrodes, pads, or plasma tubes held by the user.
Supporters of Rife machines claim that applying specific frequencies can help target imbalances, support detoxification, or influence physiological processes, drawing on the idea of resonant frequency—similar to how a sound can shatter a glass by matching its natural vibration.
Rife machines became part of alternative and complementary health conversations in the 20th century and versions of them are still sold today. They haven’t been proven to cure diseases, however, and are primarily used by the alternative health community.
