Energy healing is a broad umbrella term for practices that aim to influence the body’s subtle energy systems (such as its biofield or energy field) in order to support balance, resilience and wellness. These practices are grounded in the idea that living beings carry non-visible energy patterns which can become disrupted by stress, trauma, electromagnetic exposure or emotional imbalance. According to academic overview, energy healing is defined as “a practice based on the belief that living beings possess energy fields, and that imbalances in these fields can adversely affect health.”
Techniques might include hands-on or hands-off methods (such as Reiki, therapeutic touch, or sound therapy), guided intention, subtle frequency work, and lifestyle alignment that reduces “noise” in the energy system. While mechanisms and scientific consensus vary, many wellness frameworks integrate energy healing as a complementary approach. It emphasizes that what you cannot see can still shape what you feel and how you function.
