Let’s say you get cut. The first step of healing is your blood begins to clot. Part of why you apply pressure is to encourage blood to clot faster to close the wound. The next step is inflammation. Cells called fibroblasts begin amassing in greater numbers in a process called proliferation. They generate collagen which is a main component of skin cells.
